Pixie Playland Pre-Primary is the largest of the schools and caters for children from 4 months to Grade R in a beautiful garden setting. Aftercare is available for Grade R, Grade 1 and Grade 2 children attending Kirstenhof Primary School.

WHAT AGE GROUPS DO YOU HAVE?
We cater for babies from 4 months to 6 year old children.
ARE THE STAFF QUALIFIED?
All Pixie Schools staff have a minimum of Level 4 Early Childhood Development qualification or are in the process of studying towards it. We are always looking at new ways of stimulating the children in our care and staff regularly attend courses to stay up to date. Staff have continuous performance reviews to freshen approaches. We support teacher professional development and encourage continuous learning.
ARE YOU A FEEDER SCHOOL?
No, Pixie Playland is not a feeder school. Many of the children attend Grade R or Grade 1 at local primary schools in the southern suburbs. Parents need to apply for Grade R or Grade 1 places via the WCED portal the year your child turns 5.
WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING AND CLOSING TIMES?
We open at 07:15 in the morning and close at 17:15 sharp in the evening.
An early drop-off is available from 06:45 (by arrangement)
Children on the half day option may be collected at 14:00.
Morning slots are now available with collection slots open at 12:00 and 12:30.
ARE YOU OPEN DURING THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?
Yes, Pixie Playland is open all year round except for public holidays and bridging school holidays. The school closes for a period of four weeks during December and January to give our staff a well-earned rest! Holiday care is included in the fees.
DO THE FEES INCLUDE MEALS?
Yes, we provide breakfast, a cooked lunch and extra sandwiches for snack time.
WHAT DON’T THE FEES INCLUDE?
Private extra murals which are additional and paid directly to the extra mural provider.
